World Asthma Day 2008
La Clínica de La Raza and the Asthma Coalition of Alameda County members will have their First Asthma Day Community Event on Thursday, May 8th from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Fruitvale Village Courtyard, in Oakland.
We will offer information and resources about asthma, an 'asthma control test', free samples of green cleaning products, tools and resources to stop smoking and many fun activities and games for children. This event is an effort to increase awareness about asthma and to help the community control asthma and its impact.
Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases in the world, affecting more than 300 million people worldwide. However, with proper treatment, most people can control their asthma and are able to live full, active lives.
