With fewer and fewer public services available for mental health problems, La Clínica de La Raza's Mental Health Department, Casa del Sol, has played a growing role in helping Spanish speakers who would not otherwise receive counseling or crisis intervention. At Casa del Sol, La Clínica offers the only mental health services in Northern Alameda County that are specifically dedicated to the treatment of Alameda County's Spanish speaking community.
Casa del Sol provides many mental health services, including intake and screening, individual therapy, individual rehabilitation, group rehabilitation, family therapy, psychiatry, domestic violence safety assessments, treatment for domestic violence and safety planning, treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect, crisis stabilization, therapy for individuals with HIV/AIDS, and specialized mental health services for children, adolescents, and adults.
