When low-income people must decide between different health care services they can afford, oftentimes dental care is not one of them. Unfortunately, lack of dental care can result in serious dental and gum problems, which can be quite painful and very expensive to treat. To meets the needs of families who would not otherwise receive dental care, La Clínica provides low-cost preventive and general dental services at six different locations in low-income communities. These sites include La Clínica Fruitvale Dental, La Clínica Dental at Children's Hospital in Oakland, La Clínica Pittsburg Dental, La Clínica Monument, La Clínica Vallejo Dental, La Clínica de La Raza Fruitvale Village, and our Dental Care Mobile in Contra Costa County.
La Clínica's Dental Care Mobile brings a broad spectrum of dental screening and oral health care services directly to children in low-income communities by operating in the elementary schools. Offering this service at public elementary schools provides excellent access to patients, and locates the clinic in a setting that is familiar to both children and their parents. Services provided through the Dental Care Mobile include general dentistry, dental exams, fluoride and sealant treatment, and cleaning and polishing.
