To improve children and adolescents' health, well-being, and success in school, La Clínica provides health care and educational services at five school-based health centers located in at-risk areas of Oakland and San Lorenzo. These clinics include the Hawthorne Elementary School-Based Clinic, Oakland TechniClinic, Tiger Clinic, San Lorenzo High School-Based Health Center, and Roosevelt Middle School-Based Clinic.
At the Roosevelt Middle School-Based Clinic, La Clínica provides middle school students with first aid and urgent care, physical exams, immunizations, reproductive health, management of chronic illness, health education, and social services. In addition, we offer a peer-led health education program that addresses such issues as tobacco and nutrition/body image. We also supervise a student research team that investigates problems currently affecting youth, including sexual harassment among students at school.
